64 Homes affordable for seniors (62+) In Nampa, ID

HOW TO BECOME A RESIDENT

Since 1970, the 64-unit Golden Glow community has been home to seniors in Nampa. A staple in the landscape of the city, Golden Glow is a home that allows seniors to age in place in their community. With residents who are more like family than neighbors, life at Golden Glow is vibrant and connected.

Periodically, a unit will become available. To see the current vacancies at Golden Glow, see below:

HOW TO SUPPORT GOLDEN GLOW

Golden Glow has been a safe, affordable home for Nampa seniors since 1970. When LEAP acquired the community in 2023, we knew it would take an influx of capital to make the necessary building repairs. We didn't let it deter us from following through on our purchase, ensuring the existing 64 residents would not be displaced by skyrocketing rents.

Now, the elevators — a lifeline for residents — are failing. We need to raise $350,000 to replace them (just $225,000 left to go!). Let’s make sure our seniors can continue to live safely and independently. When elevators fail:

  • Residents can't reach their apartments safely.

  • Emergency responders have delayed access.

  • Isolation from friends, meals, and medical appointments.

This isn’t a future problem — it’s happening right now.

Contribute to the campaign today, ensuring we are able to repair the elevator!

A big thank you to Saint Alphonsus Health for kicking off the campaign with a $100,000 contribution!

The Faces of Golden Glow

JEAN

Back in her 30’s, Jean lived in the home that once sat on the lot that GGT now stands on. She has great memories from that time and loves being able to live in the same place again, even if it’s in a different building. Her favorite thing about Golden Glow is the warmth and friendship of the other residents.

“This is my home sweet home”

Wayne & Constance

Wayne and Constance both moved in to the building about 12 years ago. Both from Nampa, they remember watching the building being constructed.

They met at a resident social event and kept running into each other around the building, discovering they had a lot in common. They’ve been golfing, dancing, and traveling together since.

Mary Ann

Mary Ann lived in Golden Glow for “25 years of bliss.” Her apartment is her sanctuary, with family, stores, and doctors are all easily accessible from Golden Glow. Mary Ann is known by other residents as a source of sage advice and wisdom.

I grew up [in Nampa]… I’m so happy to be able to live here.”

Emil

Emil is a veteran who has lived in the building for over a year. Golden Glow has provided a place for him to find new friends, and he loves the environment and culture of neighbors looking out for each other. He even has a neighbor who has driven him to the VA hospital.

“Everything works the way its supposed to. It’s a great place to live.”
