You would think that a global pandemic would cause housing development to tucker out in the face of multiple business closures. Thankfully that has not been the case.
In fact, LEAP's development team is making unprecedented progress with the switch to virtual operations and recruiting contractors who are eager to pick up work.
We are pressing forward on our projects with renewed determination knowing that the stability of affordable rents is extra-essential during this season of job loss, health concerns, and limited resources due to COVID-19.
And yes, we have permission – affordable housing development falls under 'essential infrastructure services' per the City of Boise Social Distancing Order.
Here's an update on Windy Court 2, which is nearing completion:
Windy Court Phase 2:
All four units are on site and the focus is now on sculpting a beautiful, walkable landscape. We anticipate occupancy in mid-May for this expansion of Idaho's first affordable housing community built of upcycled shipping containers. Stay tuned for virtual opportunities to participate with us in beautification projects!
Next up is our update on the Aries development, a duplex in Nampa. Until then, you can find more information at our Affordable Housing Development site.
